Eligibility: We are excited to announce that our Certified Phlebotomy Certification course is now enrolling.
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid State-issued ID.
- Show proof of Hepatitis B immunizations and a current Tuberculosis screen test (such as TB or TSPOT) within the last 12 months.

Course Description: As a phlebotomy technician, you are an important member of the clinical laboratory team. Phlebotomy technicians are responsible for obtaining patient specimens via venipuncture and micro-collection, all while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
At the completion of this course, students will be able to take the National Phlebotomy Certification Exam and become part of the clinical team as a certified phlebotomist.
Phlebotomy Technician Responsibilities: A phlebotomy technician is responsible for collecting blood specimens for the laboratory to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating illness. Phlebotomists work in various locations such as clinical laboratories, hospitals, doctor’s offices, blood donation centers, and other facilities.
Orientation: During orientation, students will go over the application process and how to be successful in this course.
Job Placement: We also offer assistance with job placement once you become certified.

- Pediatric and Geriatric Procedures
- Point-of-Care Testing and Special Procedures
- Blood Cultures, Arterial, Intravenous (IV), and Special Collection Procedures
- Urinalysis, Body Fluids, and Other Specimens
- Drug Use, Forensic Toxicology, Workplace Testing, Sports Medicine, and Related Areas
Classroom Work: Includes medical terminology, anatomy and physiology review, blood collection procedures, specimen collection practice, and specimen processing and handling. Laboratory operations are reviewed, including safety, quality control, universal precautions, routine laboratory tests, confidentiality, and ethics.
Phlebotomy Technician—Clinical Internship: Gain hands-on experience with a clinical opportunity at a local healthcare provider.
